Le Fédération internationale de football associations (FIFA) a publié ce 19 septembre son classement. Cette publication intervient une dizaine de jours, après les rencontres qui ont opposé sur les différents continents plusieurs sélections nationales. Le Bénin se maintient parmi les vingt meilleures équipes d’Afrique.
Lors du précédent classement de la Fédération internationale de football associations (FIFA) publié le 18 juillet dernier, le Bénin était 91ème sur le plan mondial, et 19ème lorsqu’on tient uniquement compte des nations africaines. Avec le classement publié ce 19 septembre, il passe au plan mondial de la 91ème à la 89ème place, et sur le plan africain de la 19ème à la 18ème place. Les Guépards se maintiennent donc dans le top 20 des meilleures nations africaines. Le prochain rassemblement des joueurs de l’équipe nationale de football du Bénin, est prévu à la mi-octobre dans le cadre de deux nouvelles journées comptant pour les éliminatoires de la Coupe d’Afrique des nations (CAN) de 2025. Cette édition de la plus grande compétition de football du continent africain se déroulera au Maroc en janvier 2026.
